Mercedes-Benz Indonesia SUVs

For those of you who like premium SUVs, there is a new offer from MercedesBenz. Entering the domestic market at the end of this year, Mercy GLS is here to replace the existing GL. Interestingly, this car is assembled at the Mercy assembly plant in Wanaherang, West Java. “Many people think that this year is the year of the SUV. For this reason, we are closing this year by launching an SUV with the highest caste from Mercedes-Benz,” said Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto, Deputy Director Sales Operation of PT Mercedes-Benz Indonesia (MBI). Mercedes-Benz is also very optimistic regarding the development of SUVs in Indonesia.

“Sales of Mercedes-Benz SUVs increased 35% until the end of October 2016,” continued Kariyanto. The Mercedes-Benz GLS 400 Exclusive has dimensions of 5,130 X 1,934 X 1,850 mm. The engine uses a V6 unit with a capacity of 2,996 cc with 333 hp and 480 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is claimed to take 6.6 seconds. As for top speed, it is claimed to be able to penetrate 240 km / hour. The GLS 400 Exclusive is also equipped with air suspension. The hardness level of the suspension usually adjusts according to the driving mode and road conditions being passed. This Mercedes-Benz GLS only has 1 variant and sells for IDR 1.719 billion (off the road). So why not market the GLS with a diesel engine? “GLS 350d is implemented with Euro 6 emission standards. Meanwhile, diesel fuel in Indonesia is only suitable for engines with Euro 4 emission standards. That’s why we don’t bring in GLS with diesel engines,” concluded Yudi Lesmana, Product Management Passenger Cars PT MBI
