Low Price Asus VGA Card for Gaming
Expedition is the latest series of graphics cards made by ASUS in the Republic of Gamer (ROG) line which complements the Strix, Dual and Phoenix series. ASUS designed the Expedition series with maximum durability and is ready to handle non-stop gaming sessions. There is no proper GPU for Expedition’s debut other than the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti which will be the prima donna of limited-funded gamers or internet cafes. To support durability, the Expedition GTX 1050 Ti is equipped with an anti-dust cooling fan that has dual ball-bearing.
Different from other ball-bearings which are easily disturbed by the drying of lubricating oil, fans with ball-bearings use a thicker lubricant that does not dry out easily so they have a longer life. The two fans also stop rotating if the GPU temperature goes below 55 degrees Celsius which promises silent operation. The dual-fan cooling system uses only aluminum heatsinks without heatpipes. ASUS stated that the Expedition series graphics cards underwent various tests for 144 hours including a two-hour reboot test, repeated 15 hours of running 3DMark and running a variety of the latest games to ensure the graphics card ran smoothly. Measuring at 212mm long, the Expedition GTX 1050 Ti shouldn’t pose a problem installing on most systems due to its compact size. ASUS chose to stick with NVIDIA’s benchmark in terms of power, namely a TDP of 75 Watts which can be run using power from the PCIe slot.
ASUS also chose not to equip it with an additional power connector which further facilitates the installation process. The three available video connectivity are one DisplayPort 1.4 port each, HDMI 2.0, and DVI-D. ASUS chose to follow the reference version with a base clock of 1290 MHz and a boostclock of 1392 MHz and 4 GB of GDDR5 memory running at 1752 MHz (DDR 7008 MHz). In the gameDeusX: Mankind Devided test, the Expedition GTX 1050 Ti scored an average FPS of 26 FPS at Ultra settings, 1080p resolution, and DirectX 12. In another DirectX 12 game, namely Rise of the Tomb Raider, the Expedition GTX 1050 Ti recorded an average FPS 44 FPS at Very High settings and 1080p resolution. The Expedition GTX 1050 Ti recorded the highest temperature of up to 68 degrees Celsius or 4 degrees Celsius higher than the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti offered by Colorful. However, the Expedition GTX 1050 Ti offers silent operation and without a power connector, plus points that the GTX 1050 Ti offers Colorful does not have.
